If I want to commission a portrait of my own, can I send actual photographs if I don't have digital ones?

While this is a possibility, I do request that ALL images submitted are clear and of good quality. Digital photographs are preferred as these can be easily sent via email, but if you only have actual photographs from the good old days of 35mm film they could be a good substitute (please get in touch with me to discuss your needs). In this case, I would like to request that you send copies, not originals, to avoid any unfortunate losses whilst in transit in the mail.

Can I have more than one person or pet in the same portrait commission?

Yes, you can! There will be a standard fee for the first person/pet and an extra (smaller) fee added for each additional person/pet in the portrait. I can also put people and pets in the same portrait, for a proper family keepsake. Likewise, I can put people/pets from separate photos into the same portrait.

What do I get for my money if I commission an original digital portrait painting from you?

There is no 'flat rate fee' for a portrait commission  -  everything is arranged on an individual basis and fees are calculated on the client's specific wishes and requests. The fee for a digital painting commission includes dedicated time spent on just your portrait and a 10x8 inch (approx) print. The opportunity to upgrade to a larger size print, or even a canvas print, will be available when you place an order and these options can be discussed further by contacting me. The digital portrait image file (and back-up copies) will remain in my possession but I guarantee it will NOT be offered as a print to anybody else: ONLY to the client who commissioned the painting. If the client decides at a later date that they would like to purchase additional items or extra prints featuring their commission portrait, this can be done at any time and for just the cost of the item/print itself (plus the cost of shipping & handling), having already paid the commission fee. I hope to be able to offer a wider range of options and items in the future, such as mugs, plates, and t-shirts.

Can I buy a digital download of one of your prints?

No. I do not supply digital download files of my artwork. I only offer quality prints of specific "non-commissioned" artwork (browse the galleries and look for any portraits that say 'prints available'). I hope to be able to offer a wider range of options and items in the future.

I would like a more traditional painting on canvas for my commission. Can you do this?

Yes, I can. By special arrangement only. Please get in touch with me to discuss the options. When painting directly on canvas my medium of choice is acrylics. These portraits will take longer and will be more expensive than the digital portraits due to the additional equipment and supplies needed.

How long will it take to complete my commission?

Timeframe will depend on number of people/pets in the portrait, the amount of detail required in the portrait, and whether it is a digital or acrylic painting. These questions and more will be discussed when you contact me to place an order for a commission piece. I will also keep in contact with you and update you on the progress of your portrait.

Do you offer free shipping and handling?

Unfortunately, I am not in a position to be able to offer this. All shipping and handling fees, charges, import duties and/or taxes are the responsibility of the customer/client. I am willing to ship overseas to certain countries (please enquire for details). I will ensure all items are packed safely and securely, with extra care taken for fragile items.
